Integrated Body Dynamics November Newsletter

Published on 4th November 2018

Hi All,

Here we are with our penultimate newsletter of 2018, can you believe it?

Reception Team Shuffle!

The time has come and this month Laura will be moving on to new things South of the River. Although she’ll still be visiting us occasionally and available for Thai Yoga Massage appointments (details of this to be confirmed!) you’ll no longer find her behind the desk or at the end of the phone.

But it’s not all sad news as we are welcoming the lovely Sue Irwin-Hunt to our reception team 2 -3 days a week. If you’re a Crouch End local, you may already know Sue in her other life as a jewellery maker, having exhibited in a few spaces in Crouch End.

Speaking of multi-talented receptionists, Alison Douglas is now offering Holistic and Deep Tissue Massage alongside her work as a Reflexologist and Receptionist here at the clinic. You can book an appointment with Alison on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, and she’s happy to offer combination appointments to include Reflexology and Massage, if you fancied a real treat.

A Pre-Warning of Possible Noise Disruption this Month

We have recently been informed that the landlord of the premises above our clinic has decided to convert the building into flats, meaning that unfortunately there will be some construction work going on above our heads for the next couple of months. We will be liaising with the builders as much as possible to minimise the disruption to our treatments. We’ll keep you updated as we find out more, and we will do our best to ensure as little disruption to your treatment as possible. Please bear with us (and the builders!)

An update about Justin’s courses

Last month, Justin completed a training course in Sports Taping - the process of applying various kinds of tape directly to the skin.  This can be used to stabilise injuries, speed up recovery and enhance rehab.   He found it so interesting that he’s already taped up at least half a dozen of his patients.

This month, he is continuing his studies with the SCCO – The Sutherland College of Cranial Osteopathy - with a course in BLT. (That’s Balanced Ligamentous Tension, by the way, not the art of sandwich making!) Interestingly he was given a choice of location for this course: Northern Spain or Gloucestershire.  You may not be surprised to hear that he’s off to San Sebastian for a few days later this month. He’ll be away between the 15th and the 20th of November.

Therapist Holidays

Joy is also off to Spain for a week this month, but to the South. She will be exploring the Alhambra and hopefully enjoying some rays of winter sun. She’ll be away between the 18th – 25th November.
Robert will also be away visiting his family in the Netherlands from the 20th – 25th November.

The Crouch End Prize Draw

Robert’s organisation, Walking to Save Dogs, has teamed up with a host of (mostly) Crouch End businesses to create an enormous prize draw to support Robert’s efforts in campaigning against the Dog Meat Trade.  With prizes ranging from two nights in a deluxe Scottish resort, to drinks and meals at outlets across Crouch End, from a luxury full car valet to a photoshoot for your pets, one ticket gives you the change to win the ENTIRE category of prizes!  The draw will take place at the Princess Alexandra Pub on Saturday 10th November – so be sure to get your tickets before then… Details of all the prizes you can win are at the end of this email.

That's it from us for this month, but we'll be in touch again December with news of all things festive...
